Jeïta Grotto, the jewel of tourism in Lebanon, is consisting of 2 limestone crystallized grottoes characterized by extraordinary concretions of stalactites and stalagmites sculpted naturally in different forms, sizes and colors, spanning an overall length of nearly 9 km. Nominated as one of the 7 wonders of the world, this grotto creates a magical trip which enables to spend a day of wonder-filled adventure visiting the upper grotto by foot, the lower grotto in a dreamy boat, and enjoying a small zoo, some sculptures, the greeny gardens, a cable car ride and a comfortable train shuttle.
The statue of the Virgin Mary is a twenty-ton bronze statue built in the 19th century, located 600 m above sea level, outstretching hands over Jounieh bay. A curled staircase can lead you to the top to enjoy the magical view of the bay of Jounieh. You can also take a cable car ride and enjoy the landscape.
Byblos is a charming coastal city located 40 km north of Beirut, listed as one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites. Continuously inhabited since Neolithic times, Byblos bears outstanding witness to the beginnings of the Phoenician civilization, and is also directly associated with the history and diffusion of the Phoenician alphabet. A tour in the city consist of visiting the crusader castle, a pretty ancient harbor and old souks. |
